We are coming to the end of a very successful whale watching season. The official count, done on a Sunday in July, was 69 whales passing Jervis Bay. There has been a significant increase in the amount of whale sightings compared with previous years.
The whales are heading north to warmer waters in order to procreate. They will be heading back south from September/October through to November.
Great spots to see the whales are from the Lighthouse in Ulladulla, and also from spots around Jervis Bay. Whale & Dolphin watching cruises leave from Jervis Bay (weather permitting) twice a day.
Sight-seeing flights are also available, weather permitting.
